Balsa & Basswood Scraps

All prices are based on a per item basis. Please fill in the message box listed below and describe the item you are looking for. For most economical shipping for scraps choose one of the following options: 26x20x20 for 24 inch lengths, 32x20x16 for 30 inch lengths, 37-inch box is 37x20x15 inches in size and a 49-inch box is 49x20x10 inches. Cost per handling and large cardboard box is $11.00. Please write in the quantities and items you want at the comment box at the end of this webpage.  The balsa & basswood scraps offered are discounted balsa wood or basswood sorted into different categories depending on their size shape and defect.  Balsa sawdust is used many times for pyrotechnics.

• Miscellaneous Small Balsa Scraps $3.48 per cubic foot.  The same type of balsa scraps seen in plastic bags at hobby stores that are sold for miscellaneous use. These scraps may be broken or discarded smaller balsa sticks, split or rejected end grain sheets, balsa sections, dowels and cutoffs, laser cut rejects, etc. The small scraps are excellent for balsa arts and crafts classes. Scraps separated by size and use. 6.424 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order.

• Miscellaneous Balsa Sticks and Sheets $6.00 per cubic foot. Choose one of the following sticks only, sheets only, or a mixture of both. These scraps may be broken or discarded balsa sticks, broken dowels, un-sanded sheets, sanded broken sheets, etc. These are excellent for balsa airplane builders. 6.02 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order for 24 inch lengths, 5.926 for 30 inch lengths, 6.424 for 36 inch lengths, or 5.388 cubic feet for 48 inch lengths.
  

• Small or Medium sized Miscellaneous Balsa Blocks $8.95 per cubic foot. Ends or sections of balsa blocks that have been cut off for special requested sizes and leftovers from oversized rough-cut blocks. Good for carvers or school art projects and derby racers.

• Miscellaneous Thick Balsa Sheets $12.00 per cubic foot. These scraps are un-sanded sheets about 1.5 to 4 inches wide random and 3/8 to 3/4 thick and about 20 to 24 inches long.  Most economical quantity is 6.02 cubic feet in a 26x20x20 box.

• Basswood Miscellaneous Scraps $6.96 per cubic foot. Odd shaped sticks cutoffs, basswood blocks, sheets, etc. 6.424 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order.

• Small or Medium sized Miscellaneous Basswood Blocks $19 per cubic foot. Ends or sections of basswood blocks that have been cut off for special requested sizes and leftovers from oversized rough-cut blocks. Good for carvers or school art projects and derby racers.

• Fine Balsa sawdust is $1.50 per cubic foot.  Sawdust is a fine, powdery substance created by saws and sanding equipment. 6.424 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order.

• Medium balsa sawdust $1.00 per cubic foot.  6.424 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order.

• Balsa Shavings and Chips are $1.00 per cubic foot.  Usually, balsa shavings originate from planers and jointers. Used for cattle bedding or mulch.  6.424 cubic feet is the most economical quantity to order.
