• Light Balsa at (6-10 pounds per cubic foot), Medium Balsa at (10-14 pounds per cubic foot), & Heavy Balsa at (14-19 pounds per cubic foot) are all 40% extra.
• Extra Light Balsa at (6 or less pounds per cubic foot) & Extra Heavy Balsa at (19+ pounds per cubic foot) are 100% extra. Please note that Extra Light balsa is sometimes referred to as "Contest Grade" balsa because is used for ultra light airplane contests. It is usually discolored, very hard to find, very brittle, weak, and squishy.
• No preference as to a weight of balsa = no additional charge.

• Industrial Grade balsa which may contain pinholes, horizontal or vertical cracks, knots, pith from the center of the tree, or bark.

*Note that our endgrain is assembled using a waterproof polyurethane glue and all of the blocks are dimensioned smooth before gluing to make for a clean glue joint without any gaps.  If a density is needed we weigh each block that is used to insure uniformity in the density of the finished endgrain balsa sheet.

Feel free to request any shape or size of end grain cut balsa and we will provide you with a quote for how much it would cost to manufacture. Our sanders handle up to 48 inches in width and any length. Anything wider would need to be pieced together after it was sanded. Note that some of the thinner sizes may only be available in smaller sections. Please fill in the message box listed below and describe the item you are looking for. End grain balsa core is used for airplanes, boats, race cars, semis, trains and wind generators to name a few. Balsa End grain or sometimes called balsa endgrain is very strong when sandwiched between fiberglass and epoxy. Balsa can vary between 3# (foam weight) - 40# (oak weight) for pounds per cubic foot (lbs/cuft) but the most common densities are 8-16 pounds per cubic foot.
